What is a privacy policy?
It is important to us that your experience with the Mapperley Park, and associated services is comfortable, enjoyable, and safe. That's why we respect your right to privacy and safeguard your private information. We've developed this privacy policy with you in mind, because we think you're entitled to know what information we collect and how it is used.
What information is collected?
Our site is not set up to track, collect or distribute personal information about its visitors ("users"). Users can visit us and remain completely anonymous until they decide to record personal information.
The server automatically captures users' domain names and/or IP address, but not personal details such as e-mail addresses. The captured information is used for internal purposes by authorised staff (e.g. to administer the website, or for statistical purposes).
To obtain an enhanced information service, the Mapperley Park Website Service has a User Registration System. We ask you to complete a few details about yourself. For example, we ask you to select a user name and password, and optionally your real name and other information, if you so wish.
Your email address is the only non-optional personally identifiable information we ask you for during the registration process. We ask for this information so that we can contact you via email if the need arises.
How is the information used?
Most of the information collected is gathered for the purposes of providing you with the service. In addition, we may aggregate data we collect on the use of the service to improve and maintain the service however, such uses will not disclose any of your personal information - you will be totally anonymous.
The information you provide to us is used only to allow us to correspond with you.
What are your data security policies?
We take special security measures to protect the information that we store. For instance, passwords are stored in a cryptographically secure format.
Will my information be passed to third parties?
Personal information that has been volunteered to us is never passed on to third parties, except if release is required by law or is pertinent to judicial or governmental investigations or proceedings. We will, if permitted by law, attempt to notify you via the email address you supplied during registration.
You should recognize that anything you post on our website is publicly available and may be recorded by anyone choosing to do so. You should not assume that the information you share is private. You should think twice about revealing any personal information in the forums, or in articles you submit. While we are concerned about our users' voluntary disclosure of personally identifiable information, it is impossible to monitor all aspects of our service at all times. You may wish to use a public email address of the format yourname@MapperleyPark.com, which is available from us as a service. This will provide some initial measure of anonymity.
How can I change my personal information?
We are committed to ensuring that you have appropriate control over your inform ation. Changing this information is as simple as selecting your profile page on the website.
If at any time you would like to delete your personal information (including your email address), you can send an email request to webmaster@MapperleyPark.com. Your details will be deleted unless we are under a legal obligation to retain it.
